Decentralized Single-Room Control with LON
For room temperature control, a central control device in which the sensor technology, actuator components and control unit are discretely wired radially is often used. This approach has many disadvantages:
 Extensive cabling between the devices
Lack of flexibility due to the rigid wiring
Additional space requirement for the control unit and the cables
The control unit does not match with the other switch and socket programs.
The following favourably-priced solution is an alternative: the temperature sensor, maintenance and control units can be jointly integrated in a bus-accessible device. The controller sends the regulation variable via the LON network to the bus-accessible valve-actuator. The valve-actuator on the heating element or cooling element initiates the control command electromotively. The actuator also has a digital input for connection of zero-potential window contact or dew-point sensor.
The decentralized set-up of the single-room control option gives rise to the following benefits:
flexible, simple and inexpensive cabling
high flexibility when alterations or extensions are needed
regulator availability in all switch programs and design variants
In addition to the LON network itself, the single-room control option described above needs only an EIB-compatible single-room temperature regulator with LON bus coupling unit and at least one LON valve-actuator. Optionally, a person detector can be added to this combination. Additional units can also be integrated via the LON network, e.g. lighting and sun-protection control, as well as access control.
LON System-M motion detector 2,2m
The motion detector in Merten System-M design is released for indoor purposes for up to a high of 2.2 m. The range is up to 8 me left and right and 12 m at the front. The integrated brightness sensor and an individual adjustable threshold value switch allow an individual brightness-dependent light control. For translation of detected movements of room functions the LONMark profile “Occupancy Sensor (1060)” and “Occupance Controller (3071)” are available. |
