| The LON L-Switch LS-13333CB represents a cost-effective solution to traditinal LON routers. It provides five ports and routes packets between these ports. On the one hand this enables the use of structured wiring in LON networks and reduces the the number of routers needed for the network on the other hand.
The LON L-Switch LS-13333CB has the following features:
For physical separation and logical connection of network segments
Plug&Play Installation
Supports up to 4 domains
Automatically detects the configuration of the network based on subnet/node addresses and group addresses
Supports firmware updates and configuration via each channel interface
Diagnostic LEDs for each channel showing network activity, overload, and error conditions
Supply voltage and CPU temperature monitoring
The Plug & Play installation capability of the LON L-Switch LS-13333CB allows connecting to the network without any further configuration. The intelligent firmware automatically detects the bit-rates of the connected channels, learns the configuration of the network (domains, subnet/node addresses, group addresses) and forwards the packets between the different ports.
The TP/XF-1250 ports can be used as collision-less backbone. Avoiding collisions this backbone mode provides extremly short delay rates and a highspeed transmission. Multiple L-Switch devices connected via this backbone behave like one big L-Switch. Up to 8 LON L-Switch LS-13333CB can be connected in one backbone network. Thus, using L-Switch devices and structured wiring is an easy and cost-effective way to avoid performance problems on the communication media.
As an additional feature, the L-Switch LS-13333CB permanently collects statistic information from the attached network channels (channel load, CRC errors, forwarding statistics etc.). Using this data the L-Switch software is able to detect problems on these channels (overload, connections problems etc.) and warns the system operator via LEDs. An intuitive user interface allows fast and easy network troubleshooting without any additional analysis tool and deep system knowledge. |
