For its top quality, the I/O module REG-M offers an excellent cost-benefit ratio. Particular attention was paid at the development stage to practice-oriented handling, clear configuration of all connections, operating and display elements, as well as to compact and robust construction. Well-planned technology and attention to detail.
Screw-mounted plug-in terminal block The line adapter on the I/O module is problem-free. The link to the inputs and outputs, by way of screw-attached plug-in terminals, is simple and easy to service. The terminals permit pre-wiring, so that the device is first started at the putting-into-operation stage and links up to the bus and the 230V line in a matter of seconds. A swapping of the wires when changing the device is impossible.
A further plus-point: contact protection in the disconnected state is given at all times (Modules with 16A relays have screw-terminals).
Bus Connecting Terminal The bus connection is also made via plug-in terminals. Like the bus-coupling-unit and the system clock, the REG-M I/O modules make use of the bipolar bus connecting terminal. In this way it is possible to make up to 4 bus connections to a single device. Another advantage: when disconnecting one device from the bus the bus itself is not interrupted. All other devices connected to the bus continue to operate normally.
Link-Power-Technology The REG-M I/O modules use link power technology with LPT-10 transceiver to connect with the LON network. This enables the transfer of not only data, but also of energy, via the LON two-line network, for supply of the control electronics. A separate auxiliary voltage is therefore not required. Particularly in the case of decentralized application of the I/O modules, the wiring costs are reduced to a minimum.
Devices using link power technology can also be operated together with FTT-10-based devices in a common network sector.
Installation acc. to Instructions Main power lines and bus connections (NYM or J-Y(ST)Y) may be positioned without separation. Isolated main-lines and bus connections must, however, be separated by 4mm or else provided with an equivalent-value insulation (EN-standards). In distributors it is often difficult to comply with the last requirement if additional bare main-lines are to be positioned next to the bus terminal with the bare wires of the bus connection. To ensure that the above specification is complied with, the I/O modules are provided with a protective cap that ensures a safe separation between main-lines and bus connections.
